Just got home. My thoughts.

This was a tech home game. Their fans showed up and were loud. Refs took over the game and were calling a foul every time down the court. It was ridiculous. They out hustled us which you don't see teams do to us very often. Better to have a wake up call now then when the season starts. If we get Marble back, I'm not too worried about this team. If we don't, I'm very worried.

Wade- he is Wade and maybe even better then last year. Only played 7 minutes in first half because of foul trouble. He did miss too many FTs. I haven't looked at a boxscore yet, but he missed more than he should.

Boots- he was not great. Hopefully just an off night.

Coleman- he played pretty well. It's always an adventure for him in the paint and yeah he missed some 2 footers like he always did, but he was pretty good overall.

Garcia- looks to be a bit improved. Looked more confident.

Solo- I thought he was a bit of a mess tonight and I love Solo. He was just out of control. I know that's who he is, but just felt he was out of position on defense too much.

Hefner- he has no business playing more than 5 minutes a game at this level. He's an 11th or 12th man on an SEC team.

Carter- he is going to be good. I felt he was pressing a bit too much tonight, probably excited as it was his first game as he missed the Baylor game. He's not as good as Dexter, but he's a good player and should be in the starting lineup as the 3rd guard.

Lawrence- there is no reason Hefner should play more minutes than him. I don't think he played enough tonight, but they did play him down the stretch for defense. He looks to be a pretty good defender with his length.

Lindsay- I want to see more of him. He played maybe 6 minutes, but I think he has something. He looks very relaxed and calm with the ball in his hands. I'm not sure how long he has been back from the knee injury but I want to see him get some minutes.

Manny- he played a little in the first half and didn't play at all in the second. He looked ok in the first. Maybe more under control than in the past, but I didn't see enough to think he's going to make a major impact. But it's one game.

Leveque - he played 3 minutes to end the first half and that's it. That kind of spoke volumes about what they think of him even with Marble out.

Agreed.

I fear we are going to see way too much Hefner for his corporate knowledge when Ei and Jace are just better players.

I cringed second half when Isaacs hit his sixth three and then we came down and earlier in the clock Hef launched a 26' footer that was all air. Then Tech came down other end in transition and got a hoop. Thanks Hayden.

Eli looked really good checking Isaacs. Think he can be that defensive dog for us. And he did so many little things off ball. He needs more run.

I worry about our O. Nothing new here but we were content to stand around and let Wade dominate when he was in. Ball movement was better when he was off the floor.

We got into the bonus with about 13 to play in the second half. Guess what we didnt do the next five minutes? How do you work so hard to attack the paint and get to the bonus and then just go chuck a bunch of threes and try to run your O through Solomon and Garcia for the next several minutes? Low hanging fruit.

And it felt a lot like penn st watching them rain threes without an adjustment. isaacs had six (to our seven total) and Tech had 14 as a team. That was the only thing that kept them in the game first half when Ags were threatening to blow it open.

Much to work on and improve upon, but man it sucks seeing the same problems year after year. And the same players get too much run given their seniority.
