As discussed above, technology permeates everyday life in hundreds of ways. Technology use has a long and pervasive history that without which we would not have the advancements we are accustomed to. Here are some common modern technology examples that are used by people every day:

Everyday Electronic Technology:

Electrical technology is the application of scientific principles to solve problems using electricity or tools that require electricity to function. One basic everyday example of this is light; we are visual creatures and need light to see. The ability to turn on a light requires that light to be wired to an electrical source. Other examples of everyday electrical technology includes microwaves, hairdryers, phones, computers, tablets, toasters, dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines, digital clocks, thermostats, and so many others. Anything that requires electricity is an example of electronic technology.

Electronic devices such as computers are a common type of technology in our modern world.

Everyday Mechanical Technology:

Mechanical technology is anything that does work for us. These types of technology may seem simple, but without them, our world would not function the way it does now. Mechanical technology can include clocks, wheels, axils, inclines, levers, and pulleys. Stairs to the second floor of your house or the gears of a car engine all help us by making work easier.

Everyday Tools:

Tools have been used by humans since the dawn of time, and are still used by us every day. Tools can be any object used for a purpose. Today, this includes toothbrushes, hair elastics, jars to store food in, hammers, pens, paint brushes, eating utensils, bags, bowls, mugs, laundry baskets, dog leashes, and so many more are all tools that help us with everyday tasks.

Everyday Business and Manufacturing Technology:

Business and manufacturing technology is all about using scientific principles to create better products in more efficient ways. Examples of business technology used today mostly include data storage and computation of data in the form of computers, with detailed statistical analyses of market trends and business plans. In industrial and manufacturing settings like factories, the use of automated systems is quite common. This is known as automated mass production and includes the use of high-tech technologies like robots, but also includes simpler technologies such as conveyor belts, various gripping arms, sticker machines, lasers that assess the quality of a product, and so much more.

Everyday Medical technology:

Medical technology is anything used by the medical field to aid in the overall health and wellbeing of humans. Medical technology can be used to prevent, diagnose, monitor, and treat all types of diseases, injuries, and ailments. Medical technology includes imaging technology used to look inside of people, like MRIs, ultrasounds, ECMO machines, and radioactive tracers. It can also include drugs and medications synthesized to treat diseases. Lastly, it includes medical tools, from stethoscopes to syringes to scalpels.

Cutting-edge medical technology saves lives by advancing the medical practices of our day.

Some medical technology is known as cutting-edge, meaning it has been recently created for a specific, often niche, purpose. Advancements in cutting-edge medical technology make it possible to save more people's lives. For example, there was once a time in human history that did not have vaccines. With the invention of vaccines, more people are able to establish immunity to harmful diseases. Today, there are countless cutting-edge medical technologies such as prosthetic limbs that are 3D printed and needle-free diabetes treatment.
