The mission of Before and After School Child Care (BASCC) is to provide students enrolled in Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) with:
- an inclusive child care program in a safe and nurturing environment
- a culturally enriching program that promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of each child
- a program that meets the highest quality of childcare standards

YMCA South Florida, Sunshine After School Child Care, and Firewall Centers, Private Providers Approved by the School Board
Program Descriptions:
YMCA South Florida: Before and after the school bell rings, children in our on-site program are given a safe environment to boost academic skills and develop healthy habits that will carry them throughout their lives, all under the guidance of caring adults.
Sunshine After School Child Care: Sunshine has been providing quality year-round childcare programs since 1992 as a not-for-profit 501©(3). Sunshine offers our diverse communities in Broward County with affordable after school care programs and non-school day camp programs for winter, spring and summer breaks (including teacher planning days and select holidays). Sunshine currently provides safe and secure quality services to over 2,500 children year-round!
Firewall Centers: In middle school after-school programs, students receive daily tutoring, particularly focused on Math and Language Arts. Moreover, character development is emphasized through Firewall’s specialized curriculum, integrating social-emotional strategies, life skills, and education on drug/alcohol prevention via TOP (Teen Outreach Program).

- YMCA South Florida: Experienced, CPR & First Aid Certified Professionals • Arts and Crafts • Cultural Arts• Small Ratio • Hands on STEAM based Curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) • PATHS Social Skills Curriculum • YFit physical fitness and sports activities •Homework assistance
- Sunshine After School Child Care: Individual healthy snack / juice or the SBBC Supper program, daily quiet Homework time, Hands on Science, Reading, Technology, Character Education, Arts and Crafts, Intermural Sports, Music, Dance, Social Skills and much more.
- Firewall Centers:Tutoring, Mentoring, Social-Emotional Learning, Cultural Arts, Physical Education, Project-Based Learning, Nutrition
